Personal Response to a Question

Paragraph C presents the idea of male flight and states, “The women pour in …and the men drain out.”What does this mean? Why might this be happening? Do you think gender inequality will be reversed, or will it find a balance?

1-Pour in:

According to the article this word means that women continue to get these jobs that men loss of interest in them.

Drain out:

Means that men are leaving or losing interest in some jobs, which makes women pour in them.

2- I do not know for sure why men are leaving some kind of jobs. However, it might be the reason behind that is some jobs are boring for them or the benefits of these jobs are not up to desire, which makes them looking for better opportunities that market can offer. In some case, some men as known like to take a risk so they may quit to start their own business. That is not easy to find the reason behind the drain-out but also I think women have a clear role in the way they present themselves as competitors in job market.   

3-I think gender inequity will some day find a balance especially nowadays women are educated and aware of their contributions in the community and society as well.

- Because he was part of Eddie life, part of why he lived, and part of the story he needed to know as the blue man.

- As he said " when you sacrifice something precious, you are not losing it. You are just passing it on to someone else."

- He would not leave him behind.

- No , he can't.

The young man named Nicky. He had just begun driving and was still not comfortable carrying a key chain. He lost his key, and the key getting stuck in Cart No. 2, and it scraping across a locked pulley.
2. what happened about Eddie's body after he died?
He felt wonderful, his back did not hurt and his leg did not throb. But he couldn't speak at beginning.
3. Who is the first people that Eddie meets in heaven? How did he die?
The first people that Eddie meet in heaven is Joseph Corvelzchik. Medical examiner claimed that the cause of death is heart attack.
4. According to the Joseph Corvelzchik ( the Blue Man), what's the meaning of the heaven for Eddie?
There are five people that Eddie will meet in heaven. Each of them was in his life for a reason. He may not have known the reason at the time but the reasons will help Eddie understanding his life.

    When I got the book "The Five People You Meet in Heaven", I started thinking about what kind of five people the author will tell us in the book. We have met thousands of thousands people in our life, some of them are our friends, and some of them are just strangers. People's memory include all of these people who we once met,  but when people are old, they just can remember a few of them. How about after people die? Who will be remembered? Why? I believe heaven is exist though I don't know where it is. People who are kind will met their parents and friends in heaven; people who are bad will lose everything and have guilty feeling in heaven. This is my imagination about heaven. The book will talk about five people you meet in heaven, does it mean we can just meet only five people in heaven after we die? And I am very curious what kind of  five people we will meet in heaven.

What initially grabs your attention in The Five People You Meet in Heaven? What holds it?

When I see the title of the book, I feel very strange. I have a lot of questions for this novel. “The Five People You Meet in Heaven.” What kind of people you meet in heaven? What they look like? Where is heaven? What the heaven looks like? I want a travel to go to heaven, how to get there? I really interest to get these answers of these questions from this novel. After I finish reading“The End”, I have felt strange again. If a person dead, what will happen next? In my opinion, death means the end. After death, nothing will happen. However, death is the beginning of the novel. Will happen anything after death? I really confuse about it, but I am curious about what will happen next. I believe when I finish reading this novel, I could find my answer. After death, could you find something or nothing?

1.Do you think it’s Eddie killed the blue man? Why?

I do not think so.There must be some problem with blue man’s heart, or he would never be killed in the small accident. It can be called as “disease” not “not strong”. A person with heart disease is not allowed to drive in some countries because it both dangerous to the person and other people. He knows his heart is “not strong”, so he should not drive a car.

2.If the blue man hit Eddie with the Ford car, what would happen to him then?

If Eddie was hit, may be he would killed in the accident. To the blue man, I think he cannot survive either. Because he has a heart disease, he will get the “heart attack” too when he saw someone was killed by him.

3.How do you know about Eddie’s father in these two chapter?

From these two chapter, I know he is a maintenance of the park, the same with Eddie. He likes play cards and smoking. The relationship between Eddie and his father may be not that well.

4. How the blue man become blue?

A chemist gave him a bottle of silver nitrate and told him to take it everyday. But it is poisonous. Then he take too much of this so called medicine and his skin turned into the strange color.

5.After Eddie’s death, what is the thing Eddie cares most?

It in the accident, whether he saved the girl’s life or not.

2.Share something in your life that has begun as another thing ended, and the events that followed.
      In our life, there are many things as Albom says” all endings are also beginnings”. For example, we graduate from our universities, it means our school-days end, and then we try to have jobs, we will have some new experiences and some new things will begin. For me, when I left my hometown and fly here, my new life will begin and past events ended. Besides, when I study here, I need to learn ELI first. If I finish all the ELI classes and take academic classes next semester, I will have a new and good start. It also can indicate that something has begun as another thing ended.

Question: Who do you think Eddie will meet in heaven?

Eddie will meethis father and Marguerite .

The first person Eddie will meet is his father. The chapter" Today is Eddie's birthday" describes the first meet between Eddie and his father. He is the first family member that Eddie meet. When Eddie goes to heaven, I guess his father will welcome him, take care of him. Like the beginning of Eddie born. Everything will begins at the end. Eddie will have a new life in heaven.

The second person Eddie will meet is Marguerite. Marguerite is a very important person for Eddie. She is first love of Eddie, obviously she is the one. She has a profound effect on him. Eddie always see the moment that Marguerite waving over her shoulder and her dark hair falling over one eye. She is a mark in Eddie's memory during his whole life. He can't forgets her and wants to get marry with her, but in chapter one Marguerite just in Eddie' memory. I think Eddie will meet his true-love in heaven and continue their love.

At the start of The Five People You Meet in Heaven, Albom says that "all endings are also beginnings." In general, what does this mean? How does it relate to this story in particular?

In general, the meaning of “all endings are also beginning” is there is always having a new story begin or life follow the last story or life end. Which means you finished a period time of your life, and another period of time will start. For example, in our lives, we need to experience many different stages. Every stage ends means the other stage begins. It just likes that when we finished the primary school, we began the middle school, when our school days are end, and we will begin another stage of our lives- working. The name of the book is The Five People You Meet in Heaven. It is talking about a story that the five people whom Eddie will meet in heaven after he died. His story of his life is end in the world, but the new story that happened in heaven is just beginning.
