Group 1 , Discussion-Literature, The Second Lesson

1-Why was the Captain waiting for Eddie?

- Because he was part of Eddie life, part of why he lived, and part of the story he needed to know as the blue man.


2-what was the Captain's opinion about sacrifices ?


- As he said " when you sacrifice something precious, you are not losing it. You are just passing it on to someone else."


3-what was the promise that the Captain gave to Eddie?


- He would not leave him behind.


4- could Eddie see the Captain's heaven as it appears to the Captain himself?


- No , he can't.


5- Did the Captain answer Eddie's question that was about the girl he scarified his life to save?


- No, he did not.

  1. Summary of The Second Lesson
    The captain told Eddie dying was also the beginning.He gave the Adam's example and said sacrifice was that Eddie needed to know from him.He hurt Eddie's leg,but he wanted Eddie to forgive him.Then he told Eddie he died there,so he wanted him there,yet he see a pure and unspoiled beauty from war.After that,Eddie asked the captain something about his death.Though the captain didn't told him,he gave Eddie the helmet and tags and said someone on the photo can told him.That was a woman that made Eddie's heart pain.

    Where the action begins: The action began when the captain sat down next to Eddie and they started talking.

    Where the key events happened: The first key event happened when the captain said to Eddie what he need to know from him, so Eddie sat straight to listen to him. The second key event was w ick vines dropped off the banyan branches and melted with a hiss in to the ground.

    
Where the events end: The events ended when Eddie asked the captain about the women did he save her life, and the captain answered “I can’t tell you, solider.”

    i think this chapter have some connection with life, first is sacrifice, in everyone's life, people should have some goals, but when you achieve your goals, you have to sacrifice, if you want to be good students, you should sacrifice your play time, so every goal have some thing need to sacrifice, that's one of connection of life.
    second, don't be afraid of die, in this world, every thing have the end of the life, sometime when you have something that you have to protcet, than you can sacrifice.
