(Summarizer)
It was a shocked moment when Eddie saw through the window his father sat on a table inside a restaurant holding a cigar in his hand. Eddie’s father was hardly; always drinking and playing card and treated his son badly. This situation has been changed when one night Eddie’s father came to his son while he was sleeping and punish him to get a job, but Eddie didn’t allow this to happen and for the first time he moved his father’s hand from him. This shocked Eddie’s father, and since that moment, he didn’t talked to Eddie anymore. Back to heaven, Eddie tried to talk to his father, but an old woman said to him “your father won’t to hear you”. She was his third person that he will meet in heaven, and he didn’t know her first time. This woman her name was Ruby, and Eddie remembered that name in the place where he and his father were working. One day, a very big fire came to Emile’s company, Ruby husband, and it destroyed everything. Eddie was wondered why this woman meets him in heaven, and she answered him “to tell you a story why your father died”. Back to the earth, one-day Eddie’s father went to the hospital because he was sick, so Eddie took his job to make money for his father and his mother. Eddie received his father death with anger, and next day he went his parent apartment and took his father’s play card as a memento.

ReplyDeleteIn this part,Eddie saw his father, and then he recalled something between him and his father, but the third person he need to meet is Ruby. She help know more about his father and let Eddie can make peace with his father. I still remember the sentence in the book" All parents damage their children. This was their life together. Neglect. Violence. Silence". I think all the people can understand it because we all experience them. In my family, my mother is very kind, and my father is very cool like Eddie's father. He doesn't express his real emotion, so when I was young, I always wanted to attract his attention and got praise as the same as Eddie. I was afraid of neglect, but my father doesn't use any violence way, so this is very lucky for me. Actually, I know my father very love me and care about me, but he just choose to silence and hide this love. Maybe he feel that as a man, he need more stronger and think this as the dignity of man, so even if I want he can express his emotion to me, but if he doesn't like it, I still can understand him and love him.
